Veteran’s Day program will be at the TPAC November 11th at 10:30 A.M. Scheduled speaker is Scott McFarlane the Veteran’s Service Officer of Door County. There are nearly 2,800 veterans in Door County. His service has included actual duty for a year and a half at Fort McCoy and Fort Knox in Kentucky with the U.S. Army.  This included assisting the Army with the mobilization of troops about to deploy and debriefing those returning. In general, the Door County Veteran’s office helps veterans navigate the complexities of getting the benefits provided for them via government entities. Other provisions offered include doing funeral honors and giving veterans an outlet where they can talk with other vets about shared experiences. Come about 15 minutes early to see the compilation of slides of Island veterans.
