Group

What a great group of children performing in the Bethel Church Christmas program at the TPAC. Above they are singing the "Twelve Days of Christmas - Island Style". There were recitations, songs, plays, costumes. A wonderful night with children sharing the true meaning of Christmas.

Bird Count

Posted: 12/12/2015

The 2015 Christmas Bird Count will take place again this year. The Island count will be on December 14th. The organizer for Washington Island is again Sandy Peterson. The Audubon Society began this annual bird count and this year will be its 116th.  Besides tracking bird populations, nesting and migration patterns can be determined.  Count circles are 15 miles in diameter. That means 4 sections for Washington Island. If interested  in participating meet at Gibson's West Harbor Lodge on Sunday, December 13th between 3 & 4 P.M. or email Sandy Peterson so there isn't duplication of counters in specified areas. The Audubon is the nation's largest organized  bird count. Sandy's email: buboarcto2@gmail.com
