Graduate

Posted: 6/6/2015

I don't ever remember there being one high school graduate - but this year that was the case. The only senior was Katy Jordan, daughter of Tom and Michelle Jordan. She alone had to choose the class of 2015 colors, motto, flower, speaker, and music. Katy well deserved the title of Valedictorian having earned stellar grades throughout high school. The Commencement Exercises were held at the Community Center on June 5th. The gym was beautifully decorated. Katy wore a blue robe with the Gold Honor Cord for earning her high grade point average. After her processional Andy Munao III gave the Welcome. Opening remarks and scholarships were announced by Washington Island School Principal, Tammy Kielbasa. Katy gave the Valedictory Address. Andy Munao III and Pastor Ryan Schmitz performed the song "Home" by Phil Philips accompanied by student musicians. Ryan Schmitz was the Guest Speaker. Tom Jordan (father of the graduate and school board member) presented the Diploma. The Class Motto: Keep one foot in the past as you take your next step into the future. Class Colors: Royal Blue and White. Class Flower: Peach Rose. Ushers were students from the Junior Class. Katy (Kathryn Rose Jordan) plans to attend St. Norbert College.
