Mike Perry and guests performed at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center on July 8. They presented a staged adaptation of Perry’s sometimes comic, sometimes heartbreaking, bestselling memoir of a small town
fire department, “Population 485”. Michael Perry was born and raised in the small town of New Auburn, Wisconsin where he served for 12 years on the Fire Department. Perry utilized slides of actual places as backgrounds. As he read certain portions from his book, scenes were played out on stage by him and a cast of 7. It was a full house at the TPAC for this event. Perry has performed at the TPAC in past years and he does not disappoint!
Perry has written several books besides Population 485. He has a gift of capturing the small town spirit. Check him out online.

Island Lavendar was featured on the cover of “Nature’s Pathways” July magazine. There were photos and an article inside about the two locations of “Island Lavendar”: on the Island at the beautifully renovated former Island Dairy and the new shop in Ephraim in Door County. The shops feature a wide array of products. Both locations will be celebrating the Fourth Annual Island Lavender Blooming Festival the entire month of July.
